The Governing Body
The Governors are responsible for the strategic direction of the school, and for working with the head teacher and school staff in order to raise standards and provide the optimum education for the children of Benton Park School.
We are there to support the leadership team of the school as critical friends.We learn about what has been going on in the school from regular communication with the school staff, participation in the preparation of the school’s development plan, and regular visits to the school. We also take an active role in monitoring and analysing the progress of pupils in their learning in key areas such as English, Maths, Science, Computing and Special Educational Needs provision.
The full Governing Body meets six times a year. The oversight of the full Governing Body is suplemented by a Finance and Operations Committee - which meets three times per year
Finance and Operation committee sets and closely monitors the school budget and is also directly involved with the recruitment of new members of staff. Additionally, aspects of the school site and estate including health and safety. It also focuses on the school as part of the community and the use of the site beyond the school.

We are always very keen to hear from parents of the school. Please feel free to share with us your opinions on where the school is going, your views of its overall strengths and any areas for future improvement.
