A new school building for Benton Park Primary

In July 2022 it was announced that Benton Park Primary had been included within the government's School Rebuilding programme.

Following a feasibility study, the Department for Education (DfE) decided that Benton Park’s main building would be replaced with a new building.  

After tendering a successful proposal for our scheme, the DfE appointed a new contractor, Galliford Try working with Space architects, to take our project forwards.

Since the Autumn term began, the DfE, Benton Park and Education officers have been working with Galliford Try and Space architects to develop and agree revised designs for the new school. 

 A new planning application will be submitted in the spring of 2025, reflecting our work with the new contractor and architect, prior to this, there will be further community consultation on the new plans which is expected to take place in January 2025. The new school building is expected to be open to pupils in the 2026-27 academic year.
