School Rebuild
Updated Planning Application
Following the grant of planning permission for the redevelopment of Benton Park Primary School in May 2024, a new construction company (Galliford Try) has been appointed by the Department for Education and the scheme designs have been updated. We therefore need to apply again for planning permission.
The redevelopment of Benton Park Primary School is being funded by the Department for Education as part of the School Rebuilding Programme. Galliford Try has recently been selected by the Department for Education to design and build the new school.
The proposed redevelopment includes the erection of a new 2 storey building with reconfigured landscaping and car parking. The existing building is being replaced and will be demolished once the new building has been built.
There will be no change to staff and pupil numbers as a result of the redevelopment.
The new school building will help to tackle climate change through minimising energy demand and using low carbon and renewable energy solutions.

Subject to receiving planning permission the school redevelopment is planned to commence in Summer 2025.
