Religious Education is planned in line with local SACRE guidance and taught to provide our children with a broad and thoughtful introduction to world faiths and beliefs, as well as world views, including Humanism. Asking philsophical questions and looking to understanding human behaviour and choices (social science) are also key components of RE teaching at Benton Park. RE lessons always provide our children the opportunity to express and share their own world view and beliefs; likewise to be respectful of the views and beliefs of others. RE is a popular subject at Benton Park, which children enjoy and look forward to.
Government guidance permits parents to withdraw their child from all or part of religious education lessons. Parents wishing to do so should make an appointment with the Headteacher. Children not accessing all or part of the school's RE curriculum will be offered the opportunity to join an alternative class, studying a different area of the curriculum.
